Personal statement
I am an active, dedicated and creative teacher, and an out-going, self-motivated and hard working organiser. Currently, I hold a full-time position as Head of Drama and Dance in Danes Hill School, Oxshott Surrey, where I created the Dance Department. Under my direction dance is now incorporated in the daily timetable for the Junior School, and RAD Ballet is included as an elective activity from Nursery to Year 8. This has raised the quality of the school Drama productions, enabling both boys and girls to perform confidently and interpret musicals and straight plays.
OBJECTIVE
To obtain a position – either full or part-time – teaching dance and/or directing drama to young students.

I am a Licentiate (Diploma) of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance [ISTD] and an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance [ARAD] - Registered Teacher and LIDTA (Modern Jazz) which qualifies me to teach the disciplines of Ballet, Modern, Tap and National/Character dance.

Responsibilities
Head of Drama and Dance at Danes Hill School utilises my leadership, organisational skills and experience as a qualified dance and drama teacher with a performer’s background. I am responsible for developing the performing skills of 540 students from Year 3 to Year 8. This responsibility extends to teaching, managing a team of 4 teachers and mounting 6 full productions a year with myself as either producer, director or choreographer and coaching Drama Scholars.
External Professional work:
1990 – present Director of Centre Stage Dance and Drama performing arts school.
Responsibilities
Director of CSDD includes teaching dance, managing a team of 5 freelance teaching staff, a book keeper and an IT consultant, and arranging termly class timetables, quarterly examinations, external showcase productions and the day to day income and expenses essential to running a busy dance and drama school.

EXPERIENCE
· Over the last 10 years in Independent Education, I have progressed to Head of Department in a major IAPS Prep School. I can create and deliver non-national curriculum schemes of work in Drama, to Common Entrance level.
· I am also a Tutor to students in Year 6, tutoring in Citizenship and PHSE
· I teach RAD and ISTD Dance syllabi, delivering high-quality results in both the IAPS environment and the Private Dance/Drama Teaching environment.
· I have coached children in exam entrance material, and entered them for national examinations in Dance and Drama, with 100% pass rates.
· I have performed in Provincial, National Touring and West End productions as an actor, dancer and choreographer – I bring a wealth of practical knowledge and experience to support classroom activities and theatrical productions.
