DONNA McCABE

For over 20 years Donna has been a
performer!
Longer, in fact if you include the amount of years her Grandmother made her do
Shirley Temple impressions!
She is an accomplished Actress, Presenter and Writer with
many TV and Theatre credits to her name, from The Bill, Hale and Pace,
Kellogg’s Frosties commercials, presenting on Legal debate programmes to
presenting on various Shopping Channels for SKY, workshops with the cast of
The Kumars at No 42 and International Theatre Tours with Tara Arts.
Donna also has extensive experience working as a Drama Specialist, Writer and
Director for children and young people of all ages and abilities.
For over 10 years, she has actively worked creating and running drama and
performance related workshops for 2 to 25 year olds with many theatres, Special
Open Air Events, Prep, Infant, Junior, Kindergarten & Nursery Schools and of
course with her own production company Laughing Bubbles.
She coaches students for LAMDA exams, Drama School entry auditions and
professional theatre & TV auditions. She has just completed her second
children’s book and is in the final stages of filming the pilot for her
Children’s TV programme.
Many of Donna’s students are incredibly active within the entertainment
industry.
Most have simply developed life skills that have given them
the confidence to be whatever they want to be!
Appearances by her students include feature films such as ‘Harry Potter’ ‘The
Libertine’ with Johnny Depp and the forthcoming ‘Flash backs of a Fool’ with
Daniel Craig. Television programmes include ‘Eastenders’ ‘Holby City’ ‘The Bill’
‘Holby Blue’ ‘Casualty’ ‘Waking the Dead’ ‘BBC Comedy Showcase – Driving Me Mad’
and most recently the adaptation of BBC’s ‘Oliver Twist’ along with numerous
commercials and theatre productions at The National Theatre, Royal Court and in
the West End.
Donna also works closely with the CBBC ’Raven’ team and children whilst
filming each series. She particularly enjoyed her experience shooting
‘Raven, The Secret Temple’ in India last April
and Series 7 has just been completed – keep an eye out for it!
Her natural understanding of children and young people together with ability to
uphold and extend standards of performance and discipline are qualities she is
most proud of. She considers herself to be a reliable and competent person with
initiative and the ability to
self-organise. She possesses a good sense of humour and is comfortable working
independently or as a productive team member. She is highly enthusiastic and
confident the children and young people she teaches will continue to flourish as
a result of the superb grounding she gives them.
